Jose Gutierrez

I teach engineering courses in CSM’s Math & Science Division.  I transferred from American River Community College to the University of California, Berkeley, where I received my BS in Bioengineering. After receiving my BS, I attended Stanford and got my Master's in Mechanical Engineering.

Currently, I am exploring ways to deliver engineering material that is not only effective but also increases student self-efficacy. As a former community college student myself, I know that one of the biggest challenges, beyond learning difficult concepts, is learning to believe in your own ability to apply them to solve real-world problems.
