Joshua Rhodes
Joshua Rhodes - CSM Math Faculty
I am teaching Statistics, Liberal Arts Math, and Precalculus.
I enjoy mathematics at all levels and love to find how they continuously tie into one another. I especially enjoy statistics because of its ability to provide tools for informed decision making and data analytical skills. My personal goal when teaching is to give students the tools they need to better their lives, both in their next class and outside it. I will be interested in what your goals are coming to class and transferring, and I use that to inform what information I find most pertinent for you as a student.
I focused on optimization, combinatorics, and algebraic geometry as a graduate student and loved teaching. I have been a tutor for a decade while in school (including while I was at CSM), so I have seen what types of issues or misconceptions students might walk out of a classroom with and try to address them. I also completed the requirements for a bachelor's in teaching mathematics and have been teaching since I was a graduate student. Outside of school, I like to play video games and like to exercise.
