Overview

Counseling Services is here to help you achieve your educational and personal goals by providing information to assist you in deciding on and setting these goals, acquainting you with campus services and resources, and helping you develop skills and strategies to enhance your academic and personal success.

New and Returning Students visit the Welcome Center to learn more information and get assistance with completing the 5 Enrollments Steps (Application, Orientation, Assessment, Counseling, Registration)

Counseling services are available to:

  • New and returning students who have completed the Online Orientation (through WebSMART) and Assessment.
  • Continuing CSM Students

Counseling Appointments

Drop-in Counseling in person or by Zoom

Log into your Student Success Link (SSL), or call or come by to be added to the list. First come, first served. Times will change each week.

  • Log into your OneLogin portal
  • Choose"Student Success Link"
  • Go to the “My Appointments” tab
  • Click on “Schedule an Appointment”
  • For Appointment type, select the reason for scheduling the counseling appointment
  • Select desired counselor, time, and date that best fits your availability

See our Transcript Evaluation Service to have your previous transcripts evaluated. Please make sure to submit your transcripts during your first semester at CSM.
If your registration is prohibited due to academic standing, visit our Academic Standing page and sign up for the OnTRAC Scholars program.
Special Programs
The DRC counselors and staff provide assistance to students with verified physical, psychological and specific learning disabilities. If you are struggling in your classes, please contact DSPS services for an assessment. You might be eligible to receive services such as longer test taking or test taking in a quiet area.
EOPS is a support service available for full-time students who need additional services to successfully pursue their educational and vocational goals. Support services include priority registration, counseling, book vouchers, transportation, tutoring, and peer advising. Contact EOPS to find out if you qualify at csmeops@smccd.edu.
The Multicultural Center & Dream Center counselors provide academic and personal counseling in a supportive, culturally-enriching environment. Counselors are bilingual and knowledgeable about services specific to different student populations including AB540 students, LGBTQIA+ and former foster youth.
