Nursing Skills Lab
The Nursing Skills Lab is an important component of the CSM Nursing Program, designed
to provide students with the opportunity to practice and demonstrate their nursing
skills.
Located in Building 5, in rooms 360 and 380, the lab offers simulations, skills practice,
and open labs throughout the week. We have specialized manikins (including computerized),
innovative task trainers and realistic supplies and equipment that help simulate different
patient scenarios in adults, children and babies. This allows students to exercise
real-life techniques in a comfortable setting.
The lab provides a safe and controlled environment for students to refine their skills
prior to being in the clinical setting. Students use the skills lab regularly throughout
their coursework so they can become familiar with proper technique and safety protocols
before practicing on patients. This is an invaluable learning experience for nursing
students to understand what they are taught but also gain confidence in performing
these tasks.
Our instructors are knowledgeable professionals who provide guidance throughout each
session while offering feedback on performance so that each student nurse has the
best chance at success when they enter into their next healthcare environment. We
take great care in providing quality instruction combined with realistic simulations
so that our future nurses will be well prepared for their new profession.
