Registration Instructions
We ask that you register for each session you plan to attend so we can accurately anticipate numbers. To RSVP for a session, click on the "Register" button that follows that session. Once in the Vision Resource Center, click on the blue button in the bottom right corner that says "Request" (see image below). You should receive an email confirmation (with calendar invite) for each session.
If you are denied access to the registration system, it means one of two things:
- You are not signed in with your employee single sign-on. Please sign in with OneLogin and try again.
- You are one of a small number of employees needing an update in the District's human resources database before you can access the VRC. Please request this update, so we can promptly resolve the issue for you. You are welcome to attend sessions in the meantime.

Mental Imagery: Envisioning the Arts and STEM within our own intersecting identitiesPresenters: Mohsen Janatpour, Physics Faculty; Heidi Pereira, Assistant Project Director for Developing Hispanic Serving Institutions Location: Building 10, Room 193 (map) We have two worlds: In our outer world, we exist, interact with others, and deal with the everyday commerce of life. At the same time, we live, dream, imagine, and think in our inner world. Our mental imagery connects these worlds, and how we connect them determines the nature of our reality. Moreover, that connection is governed by the way we see the world. Seeing with both artistic and scientific eyes is a fundamental and fulfilling exercise in visualization that enriches our lives. I will draw on some concepts from my book, "Conjunctive Theory: Mental Imagery in the Arts and Sciences" (Cognella Publishing Company, 2023), and some examples to bring this idea home |
