Ryan Kelley: Winner
Katherine Moudry: Finalist
Katherine Moudry is a Russian-American artist and biology enthusiast. She was born
in the South San Francisco Area, California. From an early age she was intently curious
about the natural world, with a particularly keen interest in animals, and as a result
was fully expected by both instructors and family to go into biology. Her interest
in representing the natural world through art, however, was just slightly greater
than her interest in studying it as a career. Her constant drawing throughout Middle
and High School was noticed by both instructors and peers alike, leading to a deluge
of various requests on what to draw—from directing the illustration of a school banner,
to drawing students’ pets and loved ones.
This trend continues into her digital presence, where over five years she has been
frequently commissioned to illustrate characters, and even create merchandise designs
for small family or home businesses. Though she has an interest in drawing just about
anything, she is most passionate about illustrating animals and fantastical creatures.
Additionally, she has recently developed a keen interest in lettering and design.
Her current projects aim to combine her newfound passion with her old.

Wilhelm Habla: Finalist
Wilhelm was born in the Philippines in 1996, and he is the youngest of all four brothers. Growing up, he was always into art where he drew characters from cartoons and anime. In 2014, Wilhelm and his family immigrated to the United States in Northern California, where he lives and works.
He started working in the Food Industry in 2014, and presently, he is working as a barista at the Youtube campus. He enrolled in the Graphic Design program at the College of San Mateo in 2019 where he will obtain an Associate’s Degree in Graphic Design in 2021. He adapted the art and culture in the Bay Area where he discovered that being part of the design world isn’t only about using shapes and colors, but also a powerful medium to connect people through art and design.
