Professional Development

General Resources

The following professional development resources are applicable to all employees and were created here at CSM, in the District, or in the California Community College system.  We will continue to update this list.  Do you have an additional opportunity or resource to share? Please let us know.

CSM General Resources

Bulldog 101 is a year-long series on Flex Days, designed to onboard and build community for all our new CSM employees. Each Flex Day, we’ll take this special time to build connections, share insider tips, and discover how we can help you shine in your new role.

SMCCCD General Resources

SMCCCD's Informational Technology Services (ITS) website provides tutorials on Office 365 and other campus technology.
SMCCCD Human Resources sponsors annual professional development opportunities for staff through a Professional Development Academy (PDA), provided in partnership with CCCE Corporate Training Solutions of SMCCCD. The series provides live, online trainings in working success, office technology, leadership, safety, and customized training.
Beginning in Fall 2017, completion of the new “Screening Committee Training: The Benefits of Diversity and Understanding Unconscious Bias” will be required for you to serve in any capacity on a screening committee, and the training will be valid for three years from the date of your training.  If you anticipate participating on a screening committee in any capacity, you are encouraged to attend this training. If you are the chairperson of a screening committee in the near future, you will need to ensure that your committee members have received this training before their service on your committee. Your efforts will help avoid unnecessary delay to your committee since screening and interviewing cannot proceed until all committee members have completed this training.
