Learning Center

Any CSM faculty member can use the Learning Center (Building 10, Room 220F) to provide proctoring for individual make-up exams for students. At this time, any students with special needs will continue to have test proctoring with the Disability Resource Center. To request proctoring services for individual make-up exams call (650) 574-6570 or email the Learning Center at csmlc@smccd.edu with the student's name, a preferred date, time, and exam conditions (i.e. length of exam, allowed materials, etc.). Please allow up to 3 business days for us to process the request.

Distance Education Proctoring
On an appointment basis only, test proctoring is offered through the Learning Center for students from other domestic colleges and universities. Test proctoring is available during our normal business hours. A proctoring fee of $30 per exam is payable by credit card or cash the day of the exam. Fees must be paid prior to the exam being administered. Visitors to campus must purchase parking permits from permit machines located in visitor lots.

Proctoring appointments can be scheduled during Learning Center business hours. Our regular testing schedule is:

Monday & Thursday 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM - the latest appointment time beginning at 4:00 PM
Tuesday & Wednesday 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM & 2:00 PM - the latest appointment time beginning at 6:30 PM
Friday 8:00 AM - the latest appointment time beginning at 12:00 PM

College of San Mateo is also a part of the California Community College Online Education Initiative. The proctoring network offers convenient testing locations for students required to take in person, proctored exams for their online courses. This service is free of charge for students whose teaching college is participating in the Network.
