Child Development Center
Our Location

Mary Meta Lazarus Child Development Center
Our Center is located in Building 33 on the north-east side of the CSM campus, overlooking the Bay. The 5,000 square foot facility houses two spacious classrooms filled with natural light and soothing colors and textures; a large lobby with a comfortable, welcoming area for families; and a staff room with a conference area and teacher’s lounge. Also, our Center’s wonderful outdoor environment is rich in opportunities for learning through motor and sensory activities, nature study and gardening.

Views from the Center are spectacular. The park-like setting provides a convenient lab for children to engage in nature study. Deer and quail regularly walk through the yard, owls call from the trees, and two native varieties of salamanders can be found under the rocks.

The Child Development Center provides a laboratory setting for Early Childhood Education students and students in related disciplines to do supervised field training. The Center was designed to allow opportunities for college students from a variety of Instructional programs to observe children's behavior in a child development center setting.
