Strong Workforce Program / Perkins V - Grant Information

The Strong Workforce Program provides ongoing state funding to expand high-quality Career Education programs that meet regional workforce demand and improve student outcomes.

Perkins V provides federal funding to strengthen CE programs, close equity gaps, and support students—particularly those from underrepresented groups—in gaining technical skills, recognized credentials, and meaningful employment.

Key Purposes of SWP & Perkins V at CSM

  • Expand and modernize CE pathways aligned with labor market data
  • Support innovative, equity-focused program design and curriculum development
  • Strengthen employer partnerships and work-based learning opportunities
  • Improve CE student outcomes (completion, credentials, transfer, employment)
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines, including fiscal accountability
