1. If it is your first time attending any California Community College (CCC), start by creating an OpenCCC account. Go to CCC Apply and select "Create an Account".
2. If you have attended a CCC, you must use the account you created. To log in, go to CCC Apply and select "Sign In". 
   1. If you are an undocumented student and you are eligible for AB 540, submit a California Nonresident Tuition Exemption Affidavit.
      • Submit “California Nonresident Tuition Exemption” affidavit form to Admissions & Records Office.

   2. If you are an undocumented student & don’t qualify for AB 540, submit a 6 or Fewer units Non-Resident Tuition Fee Waiver every semester.
      • Submit “6 or Fewer units Non-Resident Tuition Fee Waiver” form to Admissions & Records Office.
      • Undocumented students who live in San Mateo County AND, plan on earning a degree or certificate, are eligible for the “Non-Resident Tuition Fee Waiver for Undocumented Students” can qualify for both the non-resident tuition fee waiver and the “Free College” enrollment fee waiver.

• If you are eligible for the AB 540 (California Nonresident Tuition Exemption), you should complete and submit a California Dream Act Application in the California Student Aid Commission website.
• If you need assistance with your application, you can seek support from our Undocumented Community Center staff or the Financial Aid office.

• To register for an Orientation with the Welcome Center.
• Online Orientation is available. You may schedule an orientation through WebSmart.

• The purpose of this process is to assist students in finding English, Math, and English as a Second Language courses that will maximize their success.
• It will look different for students depending on whether they studied in a California or U.S. High School or Foreign High School. For more information on the process, visit Assessment Services connect with our Welcome Center in College Center Building 10, Room 340, or call (650) 574-6175.

• An Academic Counselor will guide you in developing a Student Educational Plan (SEP) to identify which classes to register for and figure out a timeline for your time at CSM.
• To schedule a Counseling Appointment to help develop your educational plan, clear prerequisite requirements and select classes, call (650) 574-6400 or visit College Center Building 10, Room 340

Once you have an SEP and you know which classes to register for, head over to WebSchedule to see details for when/where the classes are being offered, then to WebSmart to register.

After you have registered, you may have outstanding fees to pay. You can pay those in WebSmart or by visiting our Cashier's Office.
