UCLA, Human Biology & Society
I decided to attend CSM full-time because I was already familiar with the CSM community because I was also a Middle College student. I knew that I wanted to transfer to a university and, after checking the requirements for each school, I discovered that I could transfer out of CSM within a year, so I decided to do that. General counselors and Promise counselors were great resources as I planned my transfer, especially because I worked as a student assistant for the counseling center so I was able to ask them questions when I had them. I would say that these resources, along with opportunities like the Honors Project, contributed to my success as a student. Not only did these programs impress me, but their associated communities did as well! I was surprised to be so immediately welcomed by students and staff all over campus. So, to any students considering CSM, I would say that attending CSM, just like any community college, is a fantastic opportunity to develop as a student, explore your interests, and meet wonderful people. As I move on from CSM, I’ll be attending UCLA next fall and hope to pursue a career in bioethics after also completing a doctorate degree!
