What is the Summer Bridge Program?
The Summer Bridge Program is a six-week, cohort-based experience designed to help STEM students strengthen their math skills, build confidence, and develop a strong academic foundation before advancing in their coursework. This program provides academic support, community-building opportunities, and access to key campus resources to help students succeed in STEM pathways.
If you are a STEM major looking for extra math support, personalized mentoring, and a head start on your college journey, this program is for you.

Program Details
Duration: Six weeks
When: Mondays & Wednesdays, June 9 - July 16, 2025 from 3:30 - 7:00 pm
Location: College of San Mateo
Eligibility: STEM students looking to strengthen their math skills and confidence
Key Components:
- Academic Support: Small-group tutoring, one-on-one faculty meetings, and cohort-based Math 251 or Precalculus sections
- Skill Development: Focus on math confidence and test-taking strategies.
- Community Engagement: Field trips and special events during weeks two, four, and six to build connections

Funding & Support
The Summer Bridge Program is supported through the STEM@CSM Title V Grant under the Title V Development Grants Allowable Activities to provide high-impact learning experiences for students.
By participating in this program, students receive structured academic support that aligns with proven student success strategies (Tinto, 2012; Crisp & Nora, 2010) to help them persist, transfer, and graduate in STEM fields.
