The process for starting a student club or organization at CSM is simple. Before starting any group, we recommend that you review the current CSM Club Handbook for information about the policies and procedures that govern clubs, as well as tips on getting started.
There are three easy steps to starting a student club at CSM.
- Find students interested in helping you form your group. At minimum, you will need the following officers: President, treasurer, and ICC representative. We recommend finding at least seven to 10 other students to help you get the group off the ground.
You will also need to find a faculty and/or staff member willing to serve as advisor. If you need help finding an advisor, contact the Center for Student Life.
- Complete and submit the necessary paperwork to the Center for Student Life.
These include the Online Club Information Form, your Club constitution/charter, and other documents depending on your group's interests and scope. - Attend your first Inter Club Council (ICC) meeting.
This meeting will introduce you to the other clubs on campus. You will also hear important information from the Center for Student Life and discuss ways to utilize funds set aside to support club activities by the Student Senate.
