Farhad Sabit, M.P.A.
Vice President of Administrative Services Candidate

Farhad Sabit is an equity minded Community College Administrator, who has lived in and raised his family in the East Bay for the last thirty years. His professional experience in financial and administrative services extends over 20 years, both in the private and public sectors. For the past 16 years, he has served in the California Community College System, both at the district and campus operations, where he has been responsible for the overall design, development, planning, delivery, and supervision of comprehensive financial and business services including fiscal services, budget development, investment and cash management, bond accounting, payroll, cashiering services, and fiscal policies and procedures.
For the past eleven years, he has served as the Executive Director of Fiscal Services for Ohlone Community College District in Fremont, overseeing accounting, budget, finance, investment, cash management, and payroll functions. He assumes a primary role in analyzing complex budget and financial data and communicating it to the college community in a simple and informative manner.
As the Executive Director of Fiscal Services, he provides fiscal support to other District departments including the Academic Services, Student Services, Human Resources, Purchasing, Campus Police, Facilities, and auxiliary functions as well as GO Bond projects. Besides leading the annual budget development process, Farhad has had the honor to serve on a number of participatory governance committees including College Council, Enrollment Management, Retirement Board of Authority, Emergency Preparedness Team, Accreditation, and co-chairing the District Budget Committee for Ohlone CCD. Prior to joining Ohlone College, he had the honor to serve as a staff accountant, assistant controller and interim controller with San Jose/Evergreen Community College District in San Jose for about four and half years. His international experience includes working as an International Financial Management Consultant for Deloitte Consulting LLP in Afghanistan in 2010.
Farhad promotes and enjoys working with people from diverse backgrounds, who bring diverse perspective to the workplace. His professional strengths include strong planning and organization skills, effective communication and interpersonal skills and working across functions to achieve the mission and strategic goals of the institution he serves.
Farhad has a Master’s degree in Public Administration with a focus in Public Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with Finance option from California State University East Bay. He is also an alumnus of Diablo Valley Community College and currently one of his children attends Ohlone College in Fremont, California. Besides English, Farhad is also fluent in Farsi, and Pashto languages and is a strong advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion for all students and the community at large. He enjoys spending time with his family and following national and international political and economic news during his free time.
