Academic Success

Successful MESA students take advantage of opportunities to increase their academic success:

1. Study at the MESA Center in building 36-110 at least 1-2 times per week. This includes attending Academic Excellence Workshops (AEW) offered for the following subjects: 
• Math AEW
• Physics AEW
• Chemistry AEW
2. Attend professor office hours and study groups or review sessions
3. Attend MESA workshops/events and utilize program resources
4. Meet with the MESA Director and/or Retention Specialist every semester

Academic Resource Centers on Campus

• MESA Center / Integrated Science Center (ISC)
  Study at the MESA Center where you will find STEM support resources, the MESA Retention Specialist, the MESA Counselor and more.
• Math Resource Center (MRC)
  Any student taking a math class is welcome at the MRC. Assistance in all levels of math is available from trained student tutors as well as faculty and an instructional aide who manages the MRC.
• Learning Center
  Tutoring by appointment or drop-in tutoring is available at the Learning Center. In addition, there are rooms for group study.
