Drafting is common to all manufacturing and construction activities. The drafter interprets the engineer's ideas, presenting them in the language of manufacturing and construction.

CSM's program is recognized as one of the finest in the state. The College's instructors have recent industry experience and classrooms are equipped with the latest equipment, including computer aided drafting (CAD) stations.

A graduate of CSM's Drafting Technology Program may select from several enviable opportunities. The graduate may immediately enter industry as a draftsperson with the potential to become a designer or may opt to continue studying at a university toward a bachelor's degree in industrial technology, becoming eligible for technical management positions.
