Rani Singh (Mann)

Rani Singh Rani Singh (Mann) has served as Assistant Chief General Counsel to San Francisco Sheriff Paul Miyamoto for over 2 years. This past spring, she was appointed Chief General Counsel for the Sheriff. Prior to her current role, she spent 23 years as a prosecutor, first with San Mateo County and then for over two decades with the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office. Throughout her career, she has focused on working with vulnerable populations, dedicating much of her time to child and adult victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.

From 2005 to 2012, Rani worked in the juvenile division of the SFDA. She has also been actively involved in educating judges, police officers, and students of all ages on various topics and is a sought-after speaker. Rani serves as a Board member of the prestigious SF Bar Association and is a community advocate for legal education. Additionally, she is the founder and volunteer director of the first-ever mock trial club at the middle school level. Her after-school Mock Trial Club is the largest extracurricular club on campus and is self-funded through volunteers from the legal community and donations from organizations in the San Francisco area. Furthermore, Rani serves on the SG Athletic Board and is an assistant coach in CYO for both girls' volleyball and basketball. Above all, she prioritizes her role as a busy working mom and wife.
