Overview
College of San Mateo is proud to be an Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institution (AANAPISI), a federal designation from the U.S. Department of Education for colleges where at least 10% of students identify as Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and/or Pacific Islander (AANHPI) and at least fifty-percent (50%) are Pell-eligible. Together with Cañada College, Skyline College, and San Francisco State University, CSM uses AANAPISI funding to expand support that helps AANHPI students, along with low-income and first-generation students, thrive.
CSM is also part of California’s Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Student Achievement Program (AANHPI SAP), a statewide initiative that champions the success of underserved community college students. Through programs like AAPILD and learning communities such as Katipunan and Mana, students find community, mentorship, and support as they work toward their degree, transfer, or career goals.
