AANAPISI/AANHPI Budget Oversight Committee
The AANAPISI/AANHPI Budget Oversight Committee is offering funding to support projects, events and activities that promote, educate, celebrate, and integrate CSM's diverse AANHPI communities.
In alignment with the goals of the Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions (AANAPISI) and Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander Student Achievement Program (AANHPI), this funding will be used to implement projects, events, and activities that strengthens transfer enrollment pathways, build career-focused learning into the student experience, and enhance support for low-income students.
Your project/event/activity should focus on:
- Culturally Responsive Learning Communities: Learning cohorts that center the cultural experiences of AANHPI students, creating spaces for academic support, shared experiences, and identity development.
- Advising and Counseling Services: Specialized advising services that support AANHPI students in navigating transfer pathways, scholarship opportunities, and academic progress.
- Mental Health Counseling and Awareness: Providing mental health resources and counseling to support the emotional and psychological well-being of AANHPI students, reducing stigma and increasing access to culturally informed services.
- Career Development and Readiness: Career readiness workshops and internship programs that will align with industry needs, integrating mentorship opportunities that connect AANHPI students to professionals in their fields.
- Supplemental Instruction and Tutoring: Offering English language development support and tutoring in key subject areas to ensure academic success for AANHPI students.
- AANHPI Studies Courses and Curriculum Development: Expansion of current curriculum by offering new courses focused on Asian American and Pacific Islander histories, identities, and contributions.
- Leadership Development: Creating opportunities for AANHPI students to grow as leaders within our campus and broader communities through internships and mentorships.
