ASCSM Elections – Spring 2019 Student Trustee Nominee Election

Announcing an election to select a nominee from College of San Mateo for the office of Student Trustee for the San Mateo County Community College District for 2019-2020 academic year.

Filing begins Monday, February 11, 2019. The election is to be held between Tuesday, March 26, 2019, and Wednesday, March 27, 2019.

We invite all interested students to apply. Candidate packets are now available from the Center for Student Life and Leadership Development in Building 12, Room 211.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS TO RUN FOR OFFICE
As stated in SMCCCD Board Policies and Procedures, the California Education Code, and the Constitution and Bylaws of the Associated Students of College of San Mateo, in order hold the office of Student Trustee, students must
  • Be currently enrolled in at least six (6) units of credit at CSM.
  • Have and maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 while running for office and while serving their term in office.
  • Maintain “satisfactory progress,” defined as a 50 percent or higher completion rate while running for office and serving their term in office.
  • Collect one hundred (100) signatures of currently enrolled students at College of San Mateo.
In addition, the Student Trustee must fulfill the requirements as outlined in SMCCCD Board Policies and Procedures Section 1.05.
