CSM Campus Life Leadership Awards

The CSM Office of the Vice President of Student Services and the Center for Student Life and Leadership Development are excited to announce the Campus Life and Leadership Awards. These awards are intended to recognize the impact of students, faculty, classified professionals, and administrators who have made significant contributions to campus life and leadership. Any member of the campus community may submit a nomination. 

Nominations are due by Friday, March 21, 2025, at 4:30 pm.

Awards will be announced at the Campus Life and Leadership Awards Ceremony on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 2:30 pm in the Bayview Dining Room (College Center Building 10).

If you plan to join us for the awards ceremony, please be sure to RSVP by Friday, April 25, 2025, at 4:30 pm.

Allan R. Brown Outstanding Student Service and Leadership Award (Awarded to up to 5 Individual Students)
The Allan R. Brown Outstanding Student Service and Leadership Award is presented to students who have made exceptional volunteer contributions to student life, the college and the community. This award is based primarily on volunteer service and campus leadership.

The students chosen are those whose volunteer activities outside of the classroom have demonstrated:
  • Exceptional Leadership
  • Remarkable Accomplishment
  • Outstanding Personal Character
  • Inspiration to their fellow students
Eligible students should have provided leadership and inspiration in a wide variety of group activities. The greatest consideration will be given to those who have demonstrated these attributes in more than one interest area or project.

Equity and Justice Impact Award (Awarded to a Group or an Individual)
The Equity and Justice Impact Award acknowledges the efforts and achievements of an individual or group has led initiatives to advocate and support awareness of historically or currently marginalized groups. The award is intended to recognize courageous efforts that challenge the institution and/or society to become more equity and justice focused.

Impact Award for Advising and Mentorship (Awarded to 1 College Employee)
The Impact Award for Mentorship and Advising recognizes and celebrates exceptional faculty and or staff who have made a significant impact in service as a club advisor or mentor. They have made special effort to connect to their club or mentees; enriched their club's or mentees’ understanding of culture, the arts and sciences, or campus resources; and encouraged and inspired their club or mentees in such a way that they’ll have a lasting and positive impact on the student experience at CSM.

Outstanding Student Club Programming Award (Awarded to 1 Recognized Student Club or Organization)
Awarded to the organization that demonstrates significant programmatic efforts, leadership, and presence within the CSM community. The recipient of this award serves as a role model for peer organizations, maintains strong and consistent operations throughout the academic year, and demonstrates exemplary effort to enhance the CSM community.  The club's event:
  • Exemplified excellence in creating, planning, and implementing an outstanding event for the CSM community
  • Produced an event that fulfilled the mission of the student club or organization
  • Welcomed the entire CSM community and/or public
