Certificate Requirements
Complete 34-39 semester units of coursework to meet the IGETC/UC Certification requirements as listed below.
A grade of "C" or higher is required for each course applied to the certificate. Specific courses required to fulfill requirements can be found on the IGETC Form
Complete 6 Units of Area A: Enlgish Communication
| Area 1A: English Composition | 3.0 units |
| Area 1B: Critical Thinking | 3.0 units |
Complete 3 units of Area 2: Mathematical Concepts and Quantitative Reasoning

Complete 9 units of Area 3: Art and Humanities
At least one course must be selected from Arts and one course from Humanities. The third course can be selected from either Arts or Humanities.

Complete 9 units in Area 4: Social and Behavioral Sciences
Must complete coursework in at least two disciplines.

This area is a proficiency requirement than can be fulfilled through a number of options. Verification for any of the options listed on page 63 of the catalog is required to complete certification.
