Phi Theta Kappa (PTK)

Overview

Phi Theta Kappa is an International Honor Society recognizes the academic achievements of community college students around the country. The society creates unique research and leadership opportunities for members through yearly projects and events. For more information about Phi Theta Kappa, please visit www.ptk.org. Beta Xi Eta is part of the NV/CA region of Phi Theta Kappa. For more information on the regional level, please visit www.nvcaregion.org.

Membership Eligibility To be eligible for membership, a student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and have completed 12+ units of associate degree coursework at College of San Mateo. Students are invited via email by PTK's corporate office during the first 4 weeks of the fall and spring semesters. There is no application for PTK membership.

How do I accept membership?
To formally join PTK, accept membership and pay the $85 one-time fee. Fall semester membership acceptance must be completed by December 31st and spring membership acceptance must be completed by May 31st.

EOPS and CalWORKs Students
Assistance with PTK membership fees may be available to current EOPS and CalWORKs students in good standing. Please contact your EOPS/CalWORKs counselor for additional details.
