Projects: BIOMAPS

Skyline College is leading a consortium called BIOMAPS (Biotechnology Instruction Organizations Map Articulated Pathways for Success) that includes CSM, Canada College, San Mateo County Regional Occupation Program (ROP), Northern California Biotechnology Center (NCBC), BayBIO institute, Bio-Link, and local high schools. It is funded by a grant from the California Community College Chancellor's Office, and its purpose is to improve linkages between career and technical curricula of public schools and community colleges. Kathy Diamond from the CSM Biology Department is working with Skyline to develop a biotech prep course and coordinate with high school biotech courses so high school students who come to SMCCD for college can be given credit for their previous biotech work.
