Opportunities for Students and Artists

Internships for Studio Art and Art History Majors

Peninsula Museum of Art
An official partner of CSM's 2D Art Dept.
Students must commit to a semester-long internship and will be eligible to earn 3 units of Independent Study credit per semester. Interns will curate shows in Bldg. 10 at CSM, help receive visitors, document, curate shows at CSM, conserve and install work at the museum and work on museum outreach and development in the community. Pacific Art League Exhibitions:  Interns will work independently under the supervision of the Gallery Manager and will receive training in exhibition planning, art installation, event promotion and other aspects of gallery management.  Contact Rebecca Alex,

Life Drawing Opportunities,
 Bay Area Classical Artists, San Carlos
  • Open Model sessions uninstructed on Fridays with live models
    ($75 per session) $30 fee discounted for CSM students per session must register for the entire set)
    Hours: 10:00-4:00 2/ 3 hour segments.
  • Evening classes Monday and Wednesday with Noah Buchanan
    ($350 per 10 sessions) CSM students receive 10% discount
    Hours: 6:30-9:30
  • Daytime classes on Tuesday Portrait Drawing and Painting instructor Linda Dulaney with live models
  • Daytime classes on Thursdays Figure Drawing and Painting instructor Linda Dulaney with live models
    Hours: 10:00-11:00am uninstructed ($15 per sessions must register for the entire set)
    Hours: 11:30-3:30 instructed ($600 for 10 sessions) ($500 discounted fee for CSM students)
  • Evening open model sessions Thursdays and Fridays
    ($20 per session 3 hour must register for the entire set)
    Hours: 6:30-9:30 pm

Corks andColorsis a mobile company that brings art and fun to local restaurants, venues, private residences and corporations. A local artist will teach guests how to paint the featured painting of the day in an easy, simple, step by step instruction. Combining art, social atmosphere and creativity will leave guests with a fun memory and their own special masterpiece. Events are two hours and typically will be on Monday or Tuesday evenings from 6-8pm. All art supplies are provided to guests that attend. Compensation is $25-$50 an hour.   • June 2014 ($250) 'corridor gallery' will be available to rent for solo or group exhibitions. It has approximately 21 linear feet of wall space and repositionable track lighting ($ 250 mo.)
