SamTrans operates one bus routes to the college: Route 250 – Hillsdale Shopping Center, Downtown San Mateo, and San Mateo Caltrain Station.

All buses have wheelchair lifts and accommodate two to four bikes. Route 250 provides weekday service until 10:20 pm. There is limited service on weekends. The Lyft Rides for CSM Students program is no longer accepting new applications and will end on July 31, 2025, at 11:59 pm. Lyft Rides will only be available from Monday through Thursday during the month of July, for previously approved CSM students.
The free CSM Shuttle begins service on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, with hourly pick-ups and drop-offs between the Millbrae BART/Caltrain Station and CSM. It will run Monday through Friday from 7:10 am – 2:15 pm.
