Overview
Studio Art at CSM provides students with a robust foundation in two-dimensional arts, encompassing drawing, painting, design, and color theory. This program serves as a dynamic pathway for transferring to prestigious art schools or universities, while also offering professional training for aspiring artists. Renowned for its exceptional figure drawing curriculum—widely regarded as a cornerstone for animators—CSM's 2D Art program stands out as a leader in the field.
Students can pursue either an Associate of Arts (AA) in General Studio Art or an AA-T degree in Studio Art, as outlined in the CSM Catalog. Graduates from this program have a proven track record of successfully transitioning into diverse majors such as fine art, animation, design, art therapy, museum studies, and education, or establishing themselves as exhibiting artists.
