Sally Zhao
Sally Zhao UC Davis, Computer Science I chose to attend CSM, after I didn’t receive admission into my university of choice. Once I got to CSM, I chose Computer Science, a major that I was interested in, thus straying from the medical career my parents encouraged me to follow. I knew I wanted to complete the required classes for my major within only two years, so I struggled as they were more challenging. I constantly sought for help, which was something I was reluctant to do in high school. I went to professors’ office hours whenever a question arose, and spent hours studying in the Math Center and Computer Lab to improve my math and coding skills. Most importantly, joining the Transfer Club, and later becoming an officer, allowed me to learn all the steps I must take to achieve a successful transfer. I’m grateful for all the experience I gained as a member of the Transfer Club, as well as the help I received from my teachers and advisors. Additionally, CSM has helped me establish a good foundation for my study skills and habits. Given all the success that I have achieved here, I would encourage high school students to attend CSM before transferring and to take advantage of the numerous resources CSM has to offer.
