What is the Quiet Room?

The Quiet Room is just what it sounds like--a quiet atmosphere where students can:
  • study or read; use Apple or PC computers to research
  • write papers or work on tutorials either using the binder or accessing them online.
  • communicate with teachers via email.
It is a good place to study between or after classes.

Where is it located?

The Quiet Room is located in Building 18, Room 106. You can enter through The Writing Center, Building 18, Room 104.

Who can use the Quiet Room?

If you are enrolled in English 850 or ESL 907/908, ESL 400, or an English composition course, you can use the Quiet Room.
Also, students enrolled at CSM, who may not be taking an English course this semester, can use The Writing Center to study.

When is it open?
The Quiet Room is available during the Writing Center's open hours.

If I have any problems in the Quiet Room, what should I do?
An instructional aide is available in the Writing Center to help with any questions or problems.
