Sustainability
Overview

The CSM Sustainability Committee is a diverse group faculty, students, staff, and administrators from across campus. Every academic year, we focus on several initiatives, which you may read about on this website. The Committee is open to any and all members of the CSM community. Please email Paul Hankamp at hankampp@smccd.edu for more information.

The Sustainability Committee is guided by several principles.

  • First, we seek to change individual behavior and promote sustainable living on campus. Students leaving CSM will carry their lifestyles into the future as they transfer to four-year institutions or enter the workplace.
  • Second, we work towards promoting sustainable operations and curriculum development on campus.
  • Finally, we seek to prepare students academically for the sustainable practices of companies in the future.
