London - Fall 2011

Priority application deadline is April 15th, 2011 - Applications accepted through June 16th, 2011!
Why Study in London?
As a major political, financial and cultural center, London remains one of the world’s most thriving and cosmopolitan cities. Access to some of the most important museums, collections and galleries from the Natural History Museum to Tate Modern, major World Heritage sites such as the Palace of Westminster and Greenwich and a whole host of beautiful urban parks are just some of the highlights that this city has to offer.

As Europe’s largest city London is a bustling metropolis made up of many small diverse districts ensuring that it maintains the unique charm of any European city. The Olympic Games will descend on the city in 2012 and many areas are undergoing exciting developments meaning that alongside historic London with all its spectacular architecture you can explore a dynamic, new London that changes every day.

Studying in London is a hugely rewarding experience. The places for study extend far beyond the libraries and literary cafes of Bloomsbury. London is ideally situated for travel all over the United Kingdom and via budget airlines or the Channel Tunnel you have easy access to all of continental Europe. Over 300 languages are spoken in London and the city has gained a significant reputation for creative industries. So whether your interest is art or theatre, fashion or film, food or football London has all the resources you could want for a fulfilling study abroad experience.

The San Mateo Community College District (SMCCD) is a member of the Northern California Study Abroad Consortium (NCSAC) which partners with the American Institute of Foreign Study (AIFS) to make this opportunity available to College of San Mateo, Skyline College, and Canada students.
