Allan R. Brown Outstanding Student Service Award

Call for Nominations for the 2012/13 Outstanding Student Service Awards

The Associated Students of College of San Mateo sponsors special awards to be given to deserving students who have made exceptional volunteer contributions to student life, the college and the community. Nominations can be made by any member of the campus community (faculty, staff, students or administrators). This award is based primarily on volunteer service and campus leadership. The students chosen are those whose volunteer activities outside of the classroom have demonstrated:
  • Exceptional Leadership
  • Remarkable Accomplishment
  • Outstanding Personal Character
  • Inspiration to their fellow students
Eligible students should have provided leadership and inspiration in a wide variety of group activities. The greatest consideration will be given to those who have demonstrated these attributes in more than one interest area or project. Activities and/or projects done as part of employment or classwork that is graded shall not be considered. While involvement in the community will be taken into consideration, greatest weight will be given to activities of service and leadership on campus.

Your personal nomination and recommendation is very important. This is an individual achievement award. Nominations of campus groups or organizations will not be accepted. Please do not assume that others will nominate candidates whom you believe to be qualified. Self-nominations are not permitted.

Please take the time to submit a nomination by filling out the nomination form (see below) and returning it to the Center for Student Life (Building 17, Room 112) by Friday, April 26, 2013. Nomination forms may also be submitted via e-mail to Fauzi Hamadeh at hamadehf@smccd.edu.

Students selected for the award will be honored by the ASCSM and College presidents at the annual Commencement ceremony to be held Friday, May 24, 2013.
