Emily Barrick, MHS, PA-C serves as the Director of the Wellness Center at College of San Mateo which includes overseeing our SparkPoint Center, Personal Counseling Center, and Health Services Clinic. Emily earned a Master’s in Health Services – Physician Assistant Studies from the University of California, Davis and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Spanish and Portuguese. Before coming to the College of San Mateo Emily worked in hospital management and as a Physician Assistant at AT&T Ballpark. She has an extensive background working with a vast array of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds through her varied studies and employment throughout Asia, South America, Africa, and Europe. Emily is committed to the wellbeing of our CSM students and local community and an advocate for providing relevant resources for those who are in need.
Nicole Salviejo, M.A. serves as a SparkPoint Coordinator and Homeless Youth Liaison at College of San Mateo. Nicole earned a Master’s in Counseling with an emphasis in College Student Services from Saint Mary’s College of California. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Women’s Studies from the University of Hawaii at Mānoa. Before coming to College of San Mateo, she worked extensively with non-profit college access programs in the Bay Area and in Hawaii, supporting first-generation, low-income, minority students in achieving their post-secondary and personal finance goals. She is passionate about youth development and social equity. Nicole firmly believes that with the appropriate access to resources, and strategic collaboration, all individuals have the potential to reach their goals and achieve great things.
