The curriculum of the Certificate of Achievement in Human Services has been designed to train human services personnel to provide services for individuals and families in need of social, health, and economic assistance. 
  • Students will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the field of Human Services, Human Service theory, career opportunities, job functions and roles. 75% of the students will show significant improvement in knowledge and understanding of the field in post tests.
  • Students will demonstrate skill in counseling and interviewing and knowledge of how to apply those skills in a variety of Human Service settings. 75% of employers responding will report the graduates demonstrate adequate counseling and interviewing skills. 75% of students responding will report they have adequate counseling skills for their job.
  • Students will demonstrate skills in assessment, advocacy, referral and service coordination and knowledge of how to apply those skills in a variety of Human Service settings. 75% of employers responding will report the graduates demonstrate adequate case management skills. 75% of students responding will report they have adequate skills for their job.
  • Students will demonstrate knowledge of the various public assistance programs and resources and how to link customers to those programs and resources. 75% of the students will show significant improvement in knowledge and understanding of the field in post tests.
