Certificates - CAD/Drafting Technology

Upon successful completion of the Drafting Technology Certificate of Achievement (A.S. Degree) a students will be able to:

(Technical Competency)

  • Apply ANSI drafting standards to drafting projects.
  • Construct problem-solving skills to master the creation of drawings and assemblies as well as create accurate detail drawings of a component including all necessary dimensions for making the component and complete parts lists.
  • Judge and select correct drawing processes and procedures to synthesize and integrate information in drawings and assemblies.
  • Create user-defined drawing templates, title blocks and sheet formats.
  • Apply the appropriate types and styles of drawing views to various models.
  • Write script files and use the script command to run script files.
  • Create a slide show and be able to preload slides when running a slide show.
  • Define, write and load custom screen menus.
  • Undersand the basic AutoLISP functions and their applications as well as use, load, run, and debug Visual LISP programs and trace the variables.
  • Make accurate sheet metal flat pattern layouts.
  • Make accurate drawings of various fasteners and understand the process used to categorize them.
  • Do plus/minus tolerancing for interchangeable parts.

  • Demonstrate ability to put forward a clear presentation with an introduction, body, and conclusion organized around a specific design problem or concept.

  • Evaluate his/her commitment to personal achievement via the new knowledge gained in this subject.
