Students who have completed registration may add and/or drop classes by using WebSMART during published service hours (see Class Registration Worksheet).

 - Adding Classes

  • To add a class, attend the first class meeting to obtain the instructor's approval.
  • If space is available, the instructor will give you a four-digit authorization code to enter when you register.
  • Students may add classes by registering thorugh WebSMART.

(For Summer semesters: You must complete the registration process through WebSMART. A student must be in attendance in the class within the first 12% of class meetings.)

(A student must be in attendance in the class within the first 12% of class meetings WebSMART To enroll in a semester-long class, students must be in attendance by the second week of instruction. For evening classes that meet twice weekly, students must be in attendance by the third class meeting. For short courses, students must be in attendance in the class within the first 12% of the class meetings.)

Summer Classes starting after first day of term: Students may register through WebSMART to add classes that begin after the first day of the term without obtaining an authorization code. Students may register in these classes through WebSMART or in person at the Office of Admissions & Records. If a class becomes filled to capacity, students will be required to attend the first class meeting, obtain the instructor's signature, and return to the Office of Admissions & Records to complete the registration process.

For Fall and Spring semesters: Students may register on WebSMART or in person at the Office of Admissions & Records in classes that begin after the first day of the term. If a class becomes filled to capacity, students will be required to attend the first class meeting, obtain the instructor's signature, and return to the Office of Admissions & Records to complete the registration process.

 - Dropping Classes

Summer semester

Students may withdraw either by using WebSMART or in-person at the Office of Admissions & Records, by mail or by fax at 574-6506, by the appropriate deadline date. Mailed or faxed requests must be postmarked by the appropriate deadline date and must include the student's identification number and signature (see Important Dates).

A student who stops attending a class is not automatically dropped from the roll and may receive a penalty grade of F or NC. Instructors may drop students for non-attendance but are not obligated to do so. It is the student’s responsibility to withdraw officially, following prescribed timelines and procedures.

Students who register using WebSMART but who decide not to attend classes must withdraw officially within published deadlines to avoid penalty grades and fee obligations, whether or not their fees have been paid.

Under certain circumstances students may be permitted to withdraw from a class after the last date to officially withdraw, but before the end of the term. Further information can be obtained from the Office of Admissions and Records (Bldg. 1, Room 218).

FALL and SPRING semesters:

Classes may be dropped without the instructor’s approval. Withdrawal from a class or classes must be initiated by the student by the appropriate deadline date.

During the first two weeks of the semester

Classes may be dropped with eligibility for fee credit or partial refund, use WebSMART For shorter than semester-long courses see Credit & Refund Policy.
