TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR MEASURING SLO’S
PRIE provides a variety of resources and support related to the assessment of SLO’s at the course, program, and institution level of SLO’s. Current and ongoing projects include:
Assessments of General Education SLO's
- Surveys of All Students
Designed and administrated online survey instruments to capture students self-assessed progress in meeting General Education SLO’s; instrument was administered to CSM student population via students campus climate and satisfaction surveys, 2010 and 2011 (several thousand respondents each year); planned again for Spring 2012.
- Surveys of Students Enrolled in Labs and Centers
Designed and administrated online survey instruments to capture students self-assessed progress in meeting General Education SLO’s; instrument was administered online to students enrollment in labs and center as part of the Lab and Centers Program Review, Fall 2009.
- Surveys of AA/AS and Certificate Applicants
In collaboration with Community Relations and Marketing, the SLOAC Coordinator, and various faculty, PRIE staff are developing an online instrument asking student applicants to evaluate the extent to which they have mastered Degree or Certificate Program SLO’s (to be Implemented during Spring and Summer 2012).
- Chemistry and Physical Education/Kinesiology
Developed online tools to capture SLO assessment data for the Chemistry (Chem 192 & 410) and Physical Education/Kinesiology departments (ongoing).
