Tips for Online Orientation


Orientation is the third step of the enrollment process at College of San Mateo.  Complete steps one and two before you start: 

1. Apply for admission to the College : Online Application for Admission
2. Take the math and English or ESL (English as a Second Language) placement tests:  Assessment/Testing Website

The Online Orientation is presented in 12 parts.  Read the material carefully and follow the links.  You will be asked to take quizzes along the way, and your score will be printed on the Certificate of Completion.  You must bring the certificate to your counseling appointment.  If you score below 80%, your counselor will recommend that you retake the online orientation.

You may complete the orientation in more than one session.  Simply log-on later to begin where you left off.

Plan to spend 60-90 minutes to complete the online orientation. Take your time and explore the links.

After completing the orientation you will print a Certificate of Completion and a Counseling Session Worksheet.  Bring both to your first counseling appointment.
