José Rocha, Project Director

José Rocha

Title: Project Director
Responsibilities: Providing leadership and administrative oversight for all aspects of METaS, including designing and executing action plans to support students and program goals, implementing strategies and tactics to personalize and customize initiatives, and delivering quality services to traditional and underrepresented communities.
Years at CSM: Since 2017
Education: M.P.A., Public Management, CSU East Bay; B.A. Social Science, CSU Chico; transferable courses at Peralta Colleges
Other Interests: Spending time with family, friends and meeting new people; boxing; learning about cultures; and exploring new places
Rachel Cunningham, Assistant Project Director

Rachel Cunningham

Title: Assistant Project Director
Responsibilities: Getting students excited about studying STEM! Coordinating the Math/Science Jam, acting as a faculty liason, writing reports, tracking budgets, planning events, managing student tutors and Supplemental Instruction Leaders, and facilitating the Lending Library program.

Education: M.A., Geography, San Francisco State University; B.S., Environmental Horticulture & Urban Forestry, UC Davis
Other Interests: Theatre, sewing & costume design, homebrewing, board games, botanical taxonomy, being a general all-around science nerd
Jessica Damian, Program Services Director

Jessica Damián

Title: Program Services Coordinator
Responsibilities: I coordinate student services, events, and opportunities centered on STEM academic and professional success.

Other Interests: Music history, dancing, baking, library visits, and roller skating

Heeju Jang, Research Analyst

Heeju Jang

Title: Planning and Research Analyst
Responsibilities: Provide leadership and research/evaluation oversight for all aspects of HSI-STEM grant, including responding to external requests and conducting formative evaluation; design and perform HSI-STEM grant related analytical projects using quantitative and qualitative research methodologies; support and enhance informed decision-making, strategic planning, and institutional self-assessments; provide research/data support for institutional and district-wide initiatives.

Other Interests: Facilitation of an experiential workshop designed to develop interpersonal and group communication skills at Stanford Graduate School of Business, storytelling, yoga, skydiving, and mentoring.

Jennifer De La Cruz, Adjunct Counselor

Jennifer De La Cruz

Title: Adjunct Counselor
Responsibilities: Provide academic, career, and personal counseling and empower students to meet their educational and career goals.

Heidi Pereira, Administrative Assistant

Heidi Pereira

Title: Administrative Assistant
Responsibilities: Trades data with HSI-STEM and school staff and others in regards to school and District administrations, and to give and decipher working arrangements, methods, and execution. Plans and facilitates HSI-STEM school-wide occasions and excercises in conjunction with other administration and staff, gives occasion and movement bolster. Goes to gatherings and different occasions to acquire and give current data, and to meet with administration and other staff to design activities and workloads.

Other Interests: I enjoy going on picnics; spending time with my family; being involved in different clubs; community service, as well as participating in my daughter's and husband's school activities; learning about different cultures; traveling; helping others who want to succeed; and, ultimately, running to relieve any stress.
