Operation Welcome Mat 
Operation Welcome Mat (OWM) is an effort to help students navigate the campus during the first week of classes. The first OWM was successfully launched in the fall of 2006. Each semester, over 4000 student questions are answered at the information booths. Thanks to our staff, faculty, and students for making this semester's OWM a success.

Student Ambassadors
Student Outreach Ambassadors are CSM students who represent the college at local high schools, in the community, and on campus. They are a vital component of the college's outreach, recruitment, and retention efforts. Each year, CSM's outreach event connects the college to high school seniors and parents.

San Mateo County Fair
On August 16 and 22, College of San Mateo participated in the San Mateo County Fair with information booths and college affiliated bands playing on the "Brews and Blues" stage. CSM's exhibit featured the bulldog mascot, complimentary CSM balloons for the kids, and several free prize drawings. Departments represented at the event included Admissions & Records, Biology, Cosmetology, Financial Aid, the Health Center, KCSM, and Student Ambassadors. This effort was coordinated by CSM's PR & Marketing department.
