National Public Radio posted a blog today about which college majors have the highest earnings in the United States, The Most And Least Lucrative College Majors, In 2 Graphs. According to NPR, a college major plays a bigger role in achieving financial success than which university a student chooses to attend.
The top 3 highest earning majors are: Petroleum Engineering, Health and Medical Preparatory Programs, and Nuclear Engineering. The bottom three lowest earning majors are: Early Childhood Education; Human Services and Community Organizations, and Theology and Religious Vocations.
But money shouldn’t be your only consideration when choosing a major! If you’ve ever been to CSM’s Child Development Center you’ll know that having a child smile at you is worth more than a million dollars (and more important too).
