Independent Honors Contracts
After successfully completing one seminar, students may opt for earning honors credit by engaging an independent honors contract. The student needs to complete the independent honors contract form (see Forms page), and get approval from both the transfer “foundation” course instructor, and the Honors Project program coordinator. Here, the student works on an advanced research project “independently,” though there are strict guidelines for meeting deadlines and getting approval at various stages of the project’s development.
Upon successful completion of the project and contract, the student will earn honors credit for the foundation course, on the transcript.
Independent honors contracts allow students to earn more transferable honors credit in less time, especially if the student aims to complete the program in approximately two years, which requires 15 units of transferable honors credit.
