Originally an all staff band from The College of San Mateo, The Bulldawgs was organized as a musical act for all college events. The administration of the College wanted to produce events that were connected to the college on many different levels; not only with the type of music but with the idea that an all staff band would really work. Their gamble paid off and The Bulldawgs were born! Starting out as a trio, the first gig was in Fall of 2003. Since then, The Bulldawgs have acquired a unique combination of some seasoned players from different walks of life. Current members are: - Dave Parkinson (session/studio drummer)
- Sam Haun (of Rock Band 'Luvhead')
- Chris Phillips (various projects)
- Rudy Ramirez (of Latin Rock 'Mambo Street' and Blues Band 'Isis and The Cold Truth')
- Helen Souranoff (of 80's bands Fourplay/Random Sample, studio recordings, producer/arranger/composer) and
- Virgil Stanford (various blues, rock, church and bluegrass bands from Louisiana!)
