Counselors at College of San Mateo are "generalists" and assist students with educational and career goals that include university transfer, associate degree and/or vocational certificate completion. Counselors assist students of all majors with:
- setting educational and career goals
- academic planning
- progressing toward educational goals
- creating student educational plans
- evaluating academic readiness and planning coursework to build skills
- enhancing skills and strategies to succeed academically
- resolving personal concerns that interfere with the ability to succeed in college
Meeting with an educational counselor at least once a semester is essential to your success. An appointment may be scheduled Room 115 or 207 in Building 1 or by calling (650) 574-6400.
