Overview

Commencement is a significant and memorable event that symbolizes a student's scholastic accomplishment. It is a time when the faculty, attired in academic dress, pays tribute to the graduating class, and is also an occasion that is very meaningful to family and friends. 

College of San Mateo will proudly hold its 96th Commencement Ceremony at the end of the Spring 2018 semester.
Date: Friday, May 25, 2018
Times: Rehearsal: 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Procession Assembly: 4:30 - 5:10 p.m.
Ceremony: Start - 5:30 p.m., End - 7:45 p.m. (Approximate)
Locations: Rehearsal: Building 8 - Large Gym
Procession Assembly: Building 3 - Theatre Courtyard 
Ceremony: Building 8 - Large Gym
Speaker: Boryana Dineva, CSM Alumna, Class of 2008
Reception: Bayview Dining Room, College Center Building 10 (immediately following the ceremony)
Registration:  April 23 to May 22 at the Bookstore
Students who are approved by the Office of Admissions and Records to graduate will receive a letter in April containing important information about the ceremony including procedures for registration. Seating for family and friends are on a first-come-first-seated basis only. Due to limited venue capacity, saving seats are not allowed.

Students who wish to participate in the ceremony but who lack 6 units or less to satisfy degree requirements may petition to participate. Petition forms are to be submitted to the Vice President's Office of Student Services, Room 10-481, beginning May 2.
