Becoming a Student

Becoming a student at CSM is quick and easy!

Step 1
Apply to the College online to be admitted as a student. Or download a printable application. Any person who is a high school graduate, or who has passed the California High School Proficiency Exam or the GED exam, or who is 18 years of age or older is eligible to attend.

Step 2
Once admitted you will be assigned a registration appointment. Please note, some courses may require you to take the College of San Mateo's math and English placement exams prior to registering. You may obtain an appointment to take the placement tests, if necessary, at the Coastside office by contacting us directly at (650) 726-6444.

Step 3
Enroll in classes. Please review the schedule of courses offered on the coast side. Registration is most easily completed through WebSMART.
