Athletics Department Mission Statement:
College of San Mateo Intercollegiate Athletics faculty and staff are committed to facilitate personal development and academic progress of highly skilled, motivated students inclusive and respectful of diverse backgrounds through participation in the varsity athletics program. The SMCCCD, College of San Mateo, and the Athletics Department recognize the value of a comprehensive education and are committed to be a model of excellence, showcasing principles of good sportsmanship, including respect towards opponents, officials, and the community at large, equal opportunity to both genders in the spirit of Title IX, and other fundamental values such as civility, honesty, a strong work ethic, moral character, integrity and social and personal responsibility. The Athletics Department is committed to supporting the academic progress of student-athletes and the achievement of their educational objectives so students can realize their true and full potential. While recognizing that the program is a window into the college, the athletics department accepts this responsibility and its obligation to uphold the integrity of the institution.
College of San Mateo, as a member in good standing with the California Community College Athletic Association, agrees to abide by all the rules of the CCCAA, and the Coast Conference. The athletic program at College of San Mateo will embrace the policies, rules and regulations of these member organizations as well as those of the College and San Mateo County Community College District.

Message from the Athletic Director
Since 1922, College of San Mateo has continually provided a solid education for our students both in the classroom and on the playing fields. The college is committed to educational excellence and that can be seen through the complete transformation the college is currently experiencing through it's Facilities Masterplan and renovation. Within the next 5 years, all buildings and athletic facilities will have been improved, modernized, upgraded or newly built through the two bond measures that the San Mateo county citizens have endorsed. Our goal is to provide the opportunity for students to learn in an environment that will prepare them for the future. I am proud of the success rate that our student-athletes have achieved while participating in intercollegiate athletics while at College of San Mateo. Most of our students complete their requirements to pursue their athletic and academic endeavors at four year institutions. For many, College of San Mateo was their first choice, and the return has provided them with a springboard to the four year level. We are committed to provide our students with a comprehensive educational experience which will prepare them for their future. By choosing to study and compete at College of San Mateo, you choose not only a place to refine your academic and athletic skills but you become part of our extended family and a Bulldog for life. It is with great pride that I say CSM is by far the finest community college in the state, if not the nation. We are here to help you realize your goals and dreams, now and always.
