The individual stars of a globular star cluster can sometimes jump right out of the eyepiece. With a little averted vision and dark skies, they look similar to this week's image of M2. The second item on Mr. Messier's list lies 37,000 light years away in the constellation Aquarius and shines at a bright mag. 6.5.
This week's photo is the result of 4 - five minute exposures combined, and was taken through our 20" RCOS telescope with SBIG STL-6303 CCD camera.
