Peggy ChavezPeggy Chavez

John DeDomenicoJohn DeDomenico
Title: Adjunct Faculty
Degrees:  M.F.A., School of the Art Institute of Chicago, M.S. Rehabilitation Counseling/Marriage and Family Therapy, SFSU 1990
Career Highlights: Working as a front line counselor and clinical supervisor at Haight Ashbury Free Clinic's with founder David Smith, former director Darryl Inaba, and all the wonderful counseling and medical staff and members of that organization from 1986 to 2012.
Hobbies: Retirement, Black & White Photography, and teaching at CSM (Where else do I get to teach what I love and learn even more from the greatest students?)

Benjamin EilandBenjamin Eiland
Title: Adjunct Faculty

Teaching Experience: Since 1978
Career Highlights: Director of the Haight Ashbury Free Clinics Substance and Behavioral Health Services.
Founding member of the California Association of Alcohol/Drug/Educators (CAADE).
Hobbies: Running, tennis, and learning

Catherine FirpoCatherine Firpo
Title: Faculty Liaison for the CSM Cares Mental Health Grant; Adjunct Professor of Psychology

Teaching Experience:  Since 1994
Career Highlights: Presenting internationally in Japan, China, and Greece.
Hobbies: Cycling, drawing, painting, poetry and filmmaking.

Career Highlights: Spent three years collaborating with the National Center for Trama Informed Care to better serve those with Co-occurirng Mental Health & Substance Use issues. Discovering a simultaneous and harmonious balance in teaching while learning.
Hobbies: Yoga, Stand-up Paddle, hiking, good food, exploring new places and playing with art.

Isabel Perez-YanezIsabel Perez-Yanez
Title: Instructor
Degrees: Master of Public Health, University of California Berkeley, and Concurrent B. A Degrees in Ethnic Studies/ Chicano Studies and Social Welfare, University of California Berkeley. Certified Health Education Specialist, National Commission for Health Education Credentialing,Inc.
Teaching Experience: Since 1992
Career Highlights:  Teaching at College of San Mateo since 2001 in the Alcohol and Other Drug  Program. Since 2005 she has taught at the Master's of Social Work Program at California State University East Bay (CSUEB); in addition Isabel is a statewide consultant/trainer with over 20 years of direct and administrative experience in public health, education, and social services. She has worked in the areas of violence (gang and domestic), prevention and intervention, diverse populations, teen pregnancy, perinatal health, cultural competence and the many issues related to substance abuse.
Hobbies: Spending time with family and friends, and traveling

Armando SandovalArmando Sandoval

Walter SchultzWalter Schulze
Title: Adjunct Faculty
Degrees: MA Counseling Pschology, University of San Francisco - 1980
Teaching Experience:  Since 2001
Career Highlights: In substance abuse field since the first funding of the “Just Say NO” campaign in 1987. Have created, developed and managed substance abuse prevention/treatment programs with various population including Asian American, African Americans and Latinos. Was invited to present an innovative program at the XII World Congress of Psychiatry in Yokohama, Japan. The program that merged traditional Asian healing modalities with the Western Psychological concepts gained interest among practitioners at the Congress.
Hobbies: Playing guitar
